Westell Chosen to Speak at Two Conferences

AURORA, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Westell Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTL), a global leader of intelligent site and outside plant solutions, has been chosen to speak at two co-located events: Antenna Systems 2013 (www.antennasonline.com/conferences/) and Remote Monitoring and Control 2013 Conference and Expo (www.remotemagazine.com/conferences/). The events will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 12-13, 2013.

Ben Stump, Chief Technology Officer of Westell, will be speaking at the Antenna Systems conference on “Managing Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Effectively and Efficiently.” Intelligent monitoring of a distributed antenna system means interpreting information from equipment throughout the network and translating that into actionable items. A comprehensive DAS solution communicates with these devices and correlates fault and performance information to provide detailed data, ultimately improving network availability and quality.

During this presentation, we’ll discuss how to best address the following challenges of a DAS to ensure an effective system:

  • Management of numerous alarms
  • Automated notification to the appropriate personnel (operator or service provider) based on the fault information
  • Intelligent dispatching to ensure the relevant personnel are visiting the problem location with the right equipment

The Remote Monitoring and Control conference presentation will be a case study based on a customer’s intelligent site management installation. Mr. Stump will discuss how this customer utilized a comprehensive power, security, and environmental management solution to meet their customers’ Service Level Agreements (SLAs), minimize operating costs by reducing truck rolls and optimizing energy usage, and enhance site security for both personnel and equipment.
